ISDN Digital Lines
ISDN (Integrated Services for Digital Network) is a set of communication standards for simultaneous digital transmission of voice, video, data, and other network services over the traditional circuits of the public switched telephone network. Compared to a standard analogue line, data transmission is faster over ISDN and ISDN is still the de facto standard for much business communications.
ISDN-based telephony still has a role to play in many businesses, particularly if you are looking to make the most of your investment in your existing ISDN equipment. ISDN remains a valid and cost-effective option as it allows high-quality voice channels to be deployed using a single cable and is easy to manage and support.
For a small business analogue lines continue to play a part in delivery cost effective voice communications and a means to send and receive traditional fax communication and alarm system signalling. Analogue lines also provide a means over which to provide ADLS broadband services.
